Frequent climate extremes breaking records. Regular extreme hurricanes, bleached coral reefs at scale, mass animal die-offs in the trees/sky/water, extreme wildfires, and fossil fuel consumption adding millions of tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.
Many scientists believe we will not live to see the end of this century and we'll witness endless natural disasters, supply chain failures including agricultural, and mass starvation well before then, possibly within decades.
The Climate Crisis has reached late-stage. With fossil fuel companies backing out on their decarbonization promises and without leadership taking or proposing a direct path out of the climate crisis, it's clear as day that the solutions will need to be creative and pushed by a large sector of the public.
The "Climate Moonshot"--taking every action possible to cool the planet--may be the only remaining path to salvaging the planet and surviving through climate change.
This endeavor includes SUBSTANTIAL CLIMATE INVESTMENTS. The global economy should adjust to the needs of the planet. One proposal to apply the sweeping changes necessary to change paradigms and conventions is the Green New Deal (GND), proposed by several progressive Democrats in 2019. Several key components of the Green New Deal are as follows:
Transform our energy system to 100 percent renewable energy and create 20 million jobs needed to solve the climate crisis.
Ensure a just transition for communities and workers, including fossil fuel workers.
Ensure justice for frontline communities, especially under-resourced groups, communities of color, Native Americans, people with disabilities, children and the elderly.
Save American families money with investments in weatherization, public transportation, modern infrastructure and high-speed broadband.
Commit to reducing emissions throughout the world, including providing $200 billion to the Green Climate Fund, rejoining the Paris Agreement, and reasserting the United States’ leadership in the global fight against climate change.
Invest in conservation and public lands to heal our soils, forests, and prairie lands.
End the greed of the fossil fuel industry and hold them accountable.
The GND would be a great path forward with historic investments in infrastructure and commitments to reduce carbon emissions as well as healing areas that act as carbon sinks and changing the public stance against greedy fossil fuel companies.
Current policies will not eliminate carbon consumption, remove CO2 from the atmosphere, or appreciably change the trajectory that we are currently on regarding the anticipated biological exterminations due to heat. Animal, plant, and human exterminations are essentially guaranteed before long if we do not correct our path and make drastic changes in our carbon consumption and how consumer consumption writ large operates without regard for sustainability. Cooling the planet dramatically is now the priority as there are now very few offramps that don't involve very significant societal changes.
Also, if we can mobilize to create nuclear reactors for AI within a lightspeed timeframe (unchecked capitalism), surely we have the resources and wherewithal to take BOLD ACTION to save our future (more discussions on the immoral and unsustainable nature of AI to come soon). We clearly have the resources and ability to make bold, swift changes, so let's take action NOW.
The Climate Moonshot includes many more additional actions that are needed to ensure the best chance of our survival:
STOP BURNING FOSSIL FUELS in EVERY WAY (not just the energy sector)
Stop consuming fossil fuels
Seek significant reparations from fossil fuel companies
DRAMATICALLY increase carbon removal (carbon capture) facilities GLOBALLY
More than smokestack scrubbers are needed.
Carbon capture should be VERY AGGRESSIVE and be happening GLOBALLY.
New Carbon capture technology is needed to capture carbon that resides in the atmosphere.
Geo Engineering efforts MUST INCREASE DRAMATICALLY and at SCALE
Large-scale cooling centers to cool the air
Maintain air currents and climate "patterns".
Gently cools the climate by running non-stop and running on renewable energy.
Innovations to maintain AMOC (Atlantic water movement patterns--collapse of AMOC currents would destroy society)
Cold water cooling stations placed strategically.
Ice generating stations running nonstop at the poles to replace lost ice.
Increase reflectivity (earth's "albedo") to decrease light absorption--adding reflectivity to the earth due to ice being lost:
Marine Cloud Brightening.
White roofs where solar panels are absent (requirement for new building?).
White roofs for cars (requirement for new cars?).
Export Heat into Space
Collect and condense atmospheric heat into "cores", shipping them to the sun.
Export via "heat portal", a temporary hole in the atmosphere used for this purpose only.
Quantum teleportation of heat cores or consolidated. heated substances (quantum teleportation developments are on-going).
Prioritize plugging methane leaks
Methane traps 28 times more heat than CO2.
Plug naturally occurring and man-made leaks.
Natural gas use and harvesting should be stopped.
Drastically reduce costs for consumer renewable energy
Solar panel subsidies.
Personal wind generating stations.
Live sustainably with lower consumption, including changes to Capitalism
MINIMIZE consumption.
MAXIMIZE reuse.
MAXIMIZE recycling.
MINIMIZE energy use.
Drive an EV.
Switch to non-gas burning appliances.
MAXIMIZE carpooling and public transit.
PROMOTE Sustainable Practices with your Family and Friends.
ENGAGE in local politics to increase checks on Capitalism.
CHANGE Capitalism into a more sustainable form.

Call your representatives (Senators, Representatives, Governors, Local government).
Demand they support and promote sustainable policies.
